The Overmountain Weavers

The Overmountain Weavers Guild was established in 1972 and has earned a reputation for being a group of friendly, creative, and talented weavers and spinners. We are all individuals, with our own interests and abilities in weaving and other fiber arts. Our members use their knowledge to help others learn and improve their skills. If you are interested in joining us, we meet at Exchange Place in Kingsport, TN on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 10:00 am.

Exchange Place

Exchange Place is a National Historic Registry restored farm and community from 1826 to 1850. The farm has ongoing activities and maintains a small number of farm animals, including a small flock of Cotswold sheep, for educational purposes. There are seasonal festivals with exhibits and demonstrations of farm activities and crafts. In return for using the facilities at Exchange Place, the Guild participates in their festivals by showing our wares and demonstrating our crafts. As a service to various organizations in the region, members often volunteer their time and abilities to demonstrate and teach fiber arts.
