Strap-Bound Book Workshop with Claudia Lee
This is a book for everyone whether you’re new to book binding or you’re experienced. The Strap-Bound binding is fun to make while offering many possibilities for personal creativity. You will learn some book-making fundamentals such as preparing a text block (the pages of your book), stitching the text block, designing the cover using a Japanese paste technique to add color and pattern and more.
Cost: $50 (includes material fees)
NOTE: This workshop is limited to 12 participants. Priority will be given to current Guild members.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Claudia Lee is a multi-media fiber artist living and working in Liberty, TN. A founding member of the Overmountain Weavers Guild in 1972, Claudia’s fiber art has been published in more than 30 books and journals and she is the author of Papermaking from Lark Books. Her work can be found in many private and public collections including The Collection of The Tennessee Arts Commission, The Arrowmont School of Craft, The Southern Highland Guild, The Wilson Collection at the Nashville Public Library and the James Walker Library Special Collections at Middle Tennessee State University.
